Thanks Murph. I think incorporating some deficit or banded DLs on my squat day makes sense since that would create a 1-2 day buffer between when I’m hitting deadlifts. Do you think it makes sense to base the RPE and % for the DL variation based on what’s written for the deadlift day that given week?

I’ll use Block 5A, Week 2 as an example:
      Day 1: Squat Day
      SSB Squat 4×6 @ RPE 8/70%

*Insert Deficit DLs based on what’s written for DL day (Day 3)
      4×5 @ RPE8/65%

Do rest of workout as written

      Day 2: Press Day
      Do as written

      Day 3: DL Day
      Axle DL 4×5 @ RPE8/70%
Do rest of workout as written

Let me know if that train of thought makes sense. I’ll give Dave your well wishes. He’s there pretty much every day!

It does. Thanks Murph. Where can I find the ‘new’ PDFs? I usually take a screenshot of the week ahead from the PDF attached to the intro to each block.

Same problem in Week 6 of Deload block. I need to know how many squat reps I have to do for that first set.

      It reads like:
      Squats
      1 set x (blank) reps @ RPE 9/77.5%
      3 sets x 3 reps & RPE 9/85%

Ok. I’ll get rolling on this program. Just an FYI: you may want to take a second look at the program because I found a few instances where the exercises/circuits were missing details like # of sets and reps.

Thanks Candace! Glad to hear my form is good. I’ll definitely take this as a bench mark moving into my next session.

      Cheers!

Solid. Follow up question: when a lift has a percentage along with a RPE posted next to it (ex: RPE 8/80%), which do I abide by? What if 80% of my 1RM feels like a RPE 7?

      Thanks

Thanks Matt. I’ve taken 1-2 weeks off here and there over the last year and, I have to say, the loss in strength/gains has been negligible. Thanks for the tip!

One more question. I’ve had to adjust my schedule so I’m gonna be tackling Day 4 of Week 1 tomorrow. Can someone clarify how the Pulldowns are supposed to work? I read the note that suggests descending sets of 12, 10, 8, and 6 reps. However the table says do 1 set of 6?

      Clarity appreciated.

As someone who has migrated to the Powerlifting program from Method, I can attest that the program does, indeed, beat the ever loving Jesus out of you. However, your body WILL adjust. As long as I’m eating right, getting proper rest, doing proper warms ups and cool downs, and staying hydrated I can easily make all 3 days (barring any scheduling hiccups).

That being said, everybody’s different. But despite that, you will get accustomed to the program and you WILL get stronger.

      Murph, where’s my $50 now? 😉
