I haven’t received a ton of coaching on sumo pulls so I’m fairly certain my form for these block pulls is a bit rough. The program called for 3×6 AHAP. Since I know my form isn’t spot on, I started with 405 which was easy enough. For the second set, I went up to 455 (with a belt to be safe) and got 5 reps. The buckle to the belt I was wearing popped open which threw off my momentum for the final rep (excuses, excuses). Sure enough, I tried 455 again and, once again, I only got 5 reps. I probably could’ve gotten the final rep had I taken a moment to reset and re-brace.
At any rate, any tips to make sure I’m able to do the full set next time is very appreciated.

Hi! Love me some 3×6. For not doing sumo a bunch it looked really good! When it comes to 3×6 of AHAP what matters is that your doing heavier weight for all three sets and that technique is good. You can always warm up a bit if you don’t know where to start. If I was with you I would have just suggested that 405 actually be counted as a warm up, 455 is a pretty practical jump but after only getting 5 reps instead of 6 I would have just dropped the weight maybe to 440-445 to make sure you got the next two sets at 6 reps. It’s about getting all the reps in, even if it’s a little lighter in weight. Keep killing it.

Thanks Candace! Glad to hear my form is good. I’ll definitely take this as a bench mark moving into my next session.
Cheers!
