Question:
“Sports bras are a pain to shop for if you’re over a D cup–I’m a lifter but I’m also doing a lot of conditioning, and I need a new bra that will actually keep things where they’re supposed to be. I haven’t had a whole lot of luck shopping so far, can you recommend any brands that might be worth a second look?” – Anonymous

Answer:

That’s a fantastic question, and one that I get often, so I am glad you asked! Luckily and unluckily, I feel your pain – literally. I am a D cup as well and was a DD before I lost quite a bit of body fat, so I have been there and done that. I’ve tried tons of bras that haven’t worked and a few that have, so hopefully my recommendations are helpful.

Out of every bra that I’ve tried, the one that stands out above all the rest is my Enell sports bra. Be forewarned, it’s not the prettiest bra you’ll ever wear, but it works like a charm and is so comfortable.

The first time I wore my Enell bra I was able to do jumping jacks without having to use one of my forearms to hold my breasts (alternating arms every 10 jumping jacks of course!). I was also able to sprint without excruciating pain. You can find their website here.

I also checked with some of my busty fitness-minded girlfriends and they recommended the following bras: “Juno” by Moving Comfort, and Champion Powerback Underwire Sports Bra. They claimed that they were supportive, comfortable, cute, and affordable. Sounds like a win to me!

Hopefully you’ll be able to check out these brands and find one that fits your body and your activity level. Good luck!
