      Hey Murph,

First of all, thank you again for working with me a few weeks back on some hip flexor/psoas releases, and for suggesting I talk to Refined. Both of those have been incredibly helpful in fixing the pain I’ve developed while squatting/deadlifting, and I’m back to doing both with minimal issues.

I wanted to post some RPE 10 triples I hit this week, since I think they may be close to openers for the meet on May 6th.

This was overall a pretty rough week. I was pretty fatigued and some weights I hit for RPE 7/8 last week were 9/10 this week. Unsure what to make of that.

Squat: 315 https://www.instagram.com/p/Cq5KynUA8nR/ How is my depth?

      Bench: 220 https://www.instagram.com/p/Cq0HlYdAK7X/

Deadlift – 425 (unfortunately only got the first rep, but I completed the set of 3) https://www.instagram.com/p/CrA3hs8AI6D/

      Thank you!!

      Glad to be of help!

And there are no last minute adjustments. We dance with what brung us until the meet.

Being fatigued now is 100% normal and the taper will take care of that.

Do you need us to handle you at the meet? Let me know.
As this is your first met, I am going to strongly suggest LOW openers so you go 9 for 9 and have low stress/high fun.

      Squat:
315 looked as it should now with fatigue.

      Suggestions:
      Open: 305
      2nd: 320
      3rd: 335

      Bench:
      Looks great.

      Open: 210
      2nd: 225
      3rd: 235

      Deadlift:
Your camera said to fuck off.
      First pull looked swell.

      Open: 405
      2nd: 430
      3rd: 445

      Lemme know what you think.

      Hey Murph,

Thanks for the feedback! A handler at the meet would actually be great, given I have no idea what to expect.

The attempts you gave seem a little conservative. Is there a reason you suggest newcomers aim to go 9/9 for their first meet? Maybe it’s just my ego, but I feel like I could put an extra 10lbs on those openers 🙂

      Thanks!!

Beginners usually have a lot of nerves, stress and other shit going on.
We ALWAYS keep 1st time lifters attempts low.
And every time they go to a meet and see people bomb out because thy opened too high, they thank us.

You can use whatever numbers that make you happy.
I don’t take it personal, but I do have a little experience here.

Remind me a week out that we are handling you in case I forget.
I forget a lot of stuff.
