Hope everyone had a great long weekend! Here are last week’s top sets.
Fatigue was absolutely brutal this week. Not sure how much is due to the peak and how much was due to other stuff, but we pulled through.
Squat – 345 Opener https://www.instagram.com/p/CiAC-NQOrV_/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link Felt harder than it looked.
Bench – 225 Opener https://www.instagram.com/p/CiCxLZkgfb2/ Not as easy as last week but still not bad. I need to practice leg drive more.
Deadlift – 425 Opener https://www.instagram.com/p/CiKW9GYulWG/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link Took a few tries to get my foot position correct

Squat: Looked good, but a little heavy for an opener.
What is you current max (on all 3 lifts)?Bench: Same as above. Plus, when testing a mock meet, imagine that you have judges commands, or have someone give them to you. At a meet, you can’t touch and go on the bench.
Deadlift: It was strong, but looked too heavy for an opener.
Using the lifts shown, if I was handling you, I’d change your attempts to:
Squat:
1. 325
2. +7% 350
3. +5-7% 365-375Bench:
1. 215
2. +7% 230
3. +5-7% 240-245Deadlift:
1. 415
2. +7% 445
3. +5-7% 465-480Openers should be something you can do EASLIY!
Let me know if this makes sense. -
Thanks Murph – maxes on all three lifts are something like 385/250/445, but both squat and bench are from before the pandemic. The numbers you supplied look much more reasonable – I’ll give them a try next week
