Curious what federations the folks in here like to compete in and what shows you guys already have picked out.

I’m eyeing up an RPS meet in Natick on Oct 12. Hope to see/meet some this group there.

I’ve only competed in RPS. The meets have been well run and for the most part everyone has been cool. I’ll be competing in Natick on the Sunday

Good to hear they are well-run. There seems to be a lot of different federations to choose from and I haven’t really dig into the differences all too much. Just eyed up one close to my house.

I forgot that men and women don’t go on the same day. Maybe I’ll swing by on the other day as well.

All federations are pretty much the same. They all need you to squat to depth, bench with a pause, and lock out deadlifts. From there there are some small rules and equipment differences. For example RPS uses a monolift for squats and USAPL and most USPA meets use squat stands. I would say the best bet is to do exactly what you guys did, choose a meet that is close to your house, with enough time to prepare and go compete at it. It just so happens that we are at a lot of the New England area RPS meets so it is just a bonus if one of us will be there to help you on meet day. Besides that we do not care what federation you compete in.

We usually go RPS because they are local and fun.

We are looking a the RPS Hayward Ploof meet in Vermont for the next one for our ladies, and also the
Iron Maidens Women’s only meet. September 28th. its also a qualifier for the XPC.

Murph — a women’s only meet sounds awesome. (Kind of obviously up my alley given all the N.E.W.S. stuff, right?) Thanks for keeping me in the loop with what the rest of the TPS women are doing. If I end up doing more meets I may try to sych up with your gals on a future meet.

Regarding RPS meets being fun: Yeah, I picked up on that when I dropped by one last year. The meets I’d been to previously (a different fed) felt a little dull by comparison

Matt — thanks for the reassurance it kind of doesn’t matter which Fed I go with at this point. Kind of what I figured. And I can’t pass one up that’s literally 2 minutes from my house.
