      Hi Murph,

If I want to peak for the Jenn in 16 weeks I have to start the 29th (Monday). Could you recommend a good block to peak with?

How many weeks do you have to prep if you begin on the 29th?

Starting on the 29th gives me 16 weeks. In that 16 weeks I also have to learn how to squat out of a squat stand and break in a new belt (USPA doesn’t allow velcro belts).

I looked on elitefts but I couldn’t find anything that looked like it was for peaking for a meet. Maybe I searched wrong.

You don’t need to learn to squat out of stands. It’s a squat, just unrack it and walk out.
Feel free to use the Combo Rack, you’ll be using one of those most likely anyway.

I have never heard of a meet peaking belt, so…..
      Go here: https://www.elitefts.com/shop/power-lifting/powerlifitng-belts.html
Any P2 or P3 belt is awesome.

I suggest the Intermediate Powerlifting Strength & Skill Development

This plan is 36 weeks long and is broken into 4-week blocks for you to follow. Your meet will be on Week 3 of Block 8C, or week 35. You’ll need to pull out a calendar and mark off the weeks in order to start at the correct one.

      EG:
You will be 12 weeks out Monday. Go to the
Monday of the meet week and count back from there so you start at the right week.
Arithmetic says it is week 23 of this entire block as your start point. Triple check my work.

      Thanks a lot Murph.

The belt thing is so annoying, the USPA rulebook disallows velcro belts so I have to compete in a different one than my spud belt.

Thanks for the help as always.

I can 100% recommend the elitefts pioneer cut belt. it took almost no time to break in and it’s a tank of a belt
