Who’s wearing wrist wraps when they bench?
Do they help and what ones do you wear?
I saw some on elitefts but I don’t want to get all crazy buying stuff if I’m better off without it. I do think they could help me keep my wrists in better position but don’t want to take away a chance to strengthen them naturally if wraps will hinder that. Thanks everyone.

Christine,
Read this article on use of wraps.
Most people who bench heavy use wraps.
If you are a beginner, I suggest going without on your lighter sets and adding them as you need them.If your wrists are weak you can add in wrist/forearm exercises to strengthen them.
We are planning on getting some videos up for those.
I prefer either the Metal All Blacks wraps from Elitefts AND
the SpudInc wraps we sell at the front desk are equally as good, but much less expensive.Try the XRV or the Yellow ones.

I ended up grabbing a pair of these, to try. The description looked relevant to my needs (general gymgoing).

I get some pretty awful pain in my wrists, thumb and palm of my hand if I do not use wraps for pretty much all pressing movements. There is general discomfort all the time but If I do not use wraps I can not open or close my hand without intense pain. I use elitefts heavy wraps. I think its from typing on a computer for 12 hours a day for the past 17 years for work

Dude I know all I do is type scan and file and my grip is SAD. I did a lot of manual work when I was younger and the difference is staggering. I’m really curious to see how wraps might help my form this week. Although I know there’s no magic thing to buy that will make me an instant pro I figure it’s good to try and see if it helps.
