      Hey everyone,

Kelsie and I are on week 4 of block 2A – time to set a new max.

I won’t lie when I say the way we started off the program wasn’t ideal – we went based on our expected 1 rep max would have been if we had tested. For me, that meant estimating my maxes as:
      Squat – 460
      Bench – 330
      Deadlift – 520
When my actual, tested 1 RMs were:
      Squat – 425
      Bench – 320
      Deadlift – 505

On one hand, I can hit the prescribed numbers in the program based on what I entered in at the start. But it was based off of something I hadn’t actually attempted before.

So for setting new maxes in the gym this week, here’s what I was planning. Please let me know your thoughts and call me an idiot for starting the program like that.

      Squat – 425, 445, 475
      Bench – 300, 325, 345
      Deadlift – 485, 520, 555

What were your numbers last week, and sets/reps?

Last week we tested openers, which were:

      Squat: 425, 3×1
      Bench: 305, 3×1
      Deadlift: 490, 3×1

Based off those numbers and assuming they were solid, passable lifts I would use this as a guide:

      Squat: 405, 435, 455-465
      Bench: 295, 315, 330-340
      Deadlift: 480, 515, 5450-560

      When are you testing?

If one of us is around we can give you commands and let you know if they would pass.

Sounds good. Thanks for your help – I’ll use these.

We’re testing Squat and Deadlift today and then Bench on Thursday.

If you guys would do that for us, that’d be great!
