So today I did some sets in flats and some sets in the squat shoes. I had mixed results with the squat shoes, really tried to take your advice on rooting down hard in them. Almost went backwards on one still, not super happy. The Vans were much more stable feeling and I was able to add the chains and get the second sets of 4 done.

Honestly thinking about getting rid of the squat shoes but I don’t think I’ve given them enough of a chance. Tough call.

So, the squats actually looked better to me in the squat shoes until you lost your balance.
      They were deeper.
Falling backwards in lifting shoes is something I’ve seen many times with people that aren’t used to them.

You are correct stating that you haven’t given them enough time.

However, use the ones you feel most comfortable with for the major work.

Maybe try incorporating them into Front Squats and accessory lifts before using for your main movement to learn the groove.
