I pulled a muscle in my back yesterday pretty bad and ive only did 1 day this week. I have the program planned out until my meet in october. The question is, should I just skip the rest of the week end mark it as complete and start fresh next week? On top of that I got strep throat tuesday

With the program planned out to the meet you would have to skip the rest of this week and keep moving forward. With that in mind, there still might be things you can do or modifications you can make. Most lower body stuff will be out at least until the acute pain is gone, but for upper body stuff consider changing out all benching for floor pressing and trying to get your legs involved as little as possible. Static ab exercises (planks, buzzsaws, etc) should still be good, and upper back tricep work as long as you can take the legs out of it.
Once your strep is gone I’d try getting back into it with some modifications.
Once the back feels better you can start back light with lower body stuff

Due to the strep i slept for 24 hours straight had a fever and the whole shabang. I think our was due to dehydration. A muscle in the right lower portion of my back contracted really tight and didnt let loose for approx ten seconds yesterday morning. It was generally sore the rest of the day yesterday but would contract periodically throughout the day. Today it’s sore if I move certain ways but it’s not contracting. Ive been switching from a heating pad to ice. Getting older sucks

      Did it happen while lifting?

Sad to say it happened while I was putting a dish in the cabinet. I guess it was the straw that broke the camels back. Not the coolest way to get injured haha

In addition to what Matt said, sometimes in meet prep you have to deal with shit.
Do your best and get back to regular training as soon as you can without risking further injury.

I will. I’m hoping to do a bench session saturday depending on how it feels and either way i should be fine to get back to normal training monday. I’ll just chalk it up to a shit week
