Hi TPS,
My name is Marlene and I’m from Danvers. I just recently moved to Malden and was lucky enough to come across TPS. I was a thrower on the track and field team in college and high school, so I was always lifting, and I absolutely loved it. It was something I felt great doing, and was perfect for me. When I was in grad school, I had a nasty ankle injury and stopped lifting for a while, and well to be quite honest, I fell out of lifting. When I graduated grad school, between studying for my board exam, and work, I felt unsettled, and lifting took a backseat to everything. But I never forgot what I was capable of, and how much I loved it. So here I am, on my journey back to the best time I had, and feeling the best that I did. In my prime training I did power lifting and cardio around 5 days a week. Right now I am trying to get in between 3-4 days, on the beginners program because I wanted to start from the roots, and build from there. I’d like to eventually move into a strong 4-5 days a week. I have not competed in any lifting meets before. I would like to get back into the shape I was in when I was lifting in college, and then look into possibly doing a competition, but first step for me is definitely getting to that level that I want for myself first. I’m really excited to be here, and to be apart of this gym. -

I’m currently following the powerlifting/raw power lifting program, in the acclimation phase.
