I’m Gina from Natick, MA.
Been training for about 10 years. My first love of strength sports is strongman and I’ve had some success there (won lots of local shows, placed at Nationals twice) but that type of training just doesn’t fit my needs right now for a number of reasons. I’ll probably jump in a show here and there (e.g., did a team strongman comp this past November, but not with a super serious training program behind it). Mostly I’m just doing general strength training these days and not much strongman implement work.
The last 2ish years my training consistency has been very poor. I’ve got two little ones (5 and 2) and between them and some other life stuff, training just can’t be as much as a priority for me as it used to be. That said, I think at least some things are easing up and I want to really make consistency my big focus now. (I know that if I’m on a decent training plan and put in the work the gains will follow so I’m not getting too hung up on setting number goals right now for any lifts.)
Current Training: Right now I’m running 5/3/1 but I’m going to take a look at the templates here and might switch once this training cycle is over or keep going with that for a while. I haven’t decided yet.
Why am I here?: I’ve been doing about 75% of my training by myself in my basement, which is convienent but there are obvious drawbacks I don’t need to go into. I could certainly use the form checks and I expect I’ll make good use of the videos and having a place to ask questions and bounce ideas. I am also toying (only very casually at this point) with the idea of doing a powerlifting meet next year so I’ll poke around looking at that stuff some too.

Thanks Murph. Glad to be here. I certainly miss having a training partner and regular interaction with other strong peeps. I think this can help fill that gap a bit.
Also: I’ve only gotten to peek around a bit so far but already seeing lots of things that I’m looking forward to digging into.
