I have trouble pulling myself into the bar. A lot of trouble.

Setting Grip and getting into the bar is a pain, but you can do a couple things to make it easier. Do you have a meet coming up soon?
Think about taking your air at the top, this will motivate you to set up quicker and maybe keep you tighter.
Try to start pulling yourself in as you set your hands, right now you set your hand then set you hips, instead once you have a grip on the bar start to drop your hips in as you set the other hand. By the time both hands are set the hips should be set too and you can just pull. A lot of this is timing and it can be hard to learn. -
Thanks Matt! I have a meet very soon – two weeks. Your suggestions make a lot of sense. I’ve really struggled with when to get air and feel like I have so much to learn about how to best utilize the suit. Sometimes getting to the bar without throwing up feels like a win.

I feel you not throwing up is always a win! I’m very excited to see videos of your lifts, they all have greatly improved. Looking forward to seeing you at the meet.

Thank you Candace! That means a lot to me. I look forward to seeing you too!
