Good morning everyone, here are this week’s top sets:
Squat – 365×2 @ 10 (Programmed for 10) https://www.instagram.com/p/ChwxkAogXJm/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link Yeah that’s a 10 all right
Bench – 240×2 @ 10 (Programmed for 10) – https://www.instagram.com/p/Ch1wDgcuIbY/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link Surprised myself with this one. I think I’ve finally started getting a hold on this leg drive business.
The routine calls for doing a paused single with this weight, which I couldn’t quite swing. I don’t really train pauses for my bench, though – should I? Obviously if I had a competition coming up I would
Deadlift – 440×2 @ 10 (Programmed for 10) – https://www.instagram.com/p/Ch4VdR4u1VF/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link This is just 5lbs under my all time 1RM, and for a double. Quite a grind on that second rep though

Squats:
1st one good!
2nd one, you look like you were looking down. Could be why it was harder.
Better job at using your back. Keep it up!Bench:
Definitely a 10!
Good job getting the hips in.
Where are your legs in relationship to the bench? Are they close/touching, or a few inches away?Deadlift:
Fahken solid kehd!
Good work.Let me know on the bench question.

Hey Murph, thanks as usual for the feedback! For bench, my legs are at maybe a 30 degree angle to the bench. Definitely not touching it.
I’ve been advised at bench days at TPS in the past that keeping my legs in front might help, but never found that I was able to feel super stable that way. Perhaps it’s worth revisiting now that I am re-learning leg drive.

If you are a tucked back bencher, stay that way if it is working.
When tucking back, next time, SQUEEZE the bench with your legs. Don’t push knees out.
Squeezing works better for most tucked back benchers, driving knees out works better for feet in front.
