CONGRATULATIONS!
That is a great gym PR!
Your bench is getting so much better.
Look at that arch compared to a short time ago!
However, if this was judged at a meet you probably wold have gotten red lights.
You pressed it up just fine for a PR.
As you know there is a start command, a press command and a rack command.
Your press was touch and go, no motionless pause at chest. That’s a red light.
And you went straight into the rack at lockout.
Another red.
BUT-this is an awesome gym lift.
The things I mentioned are some of the things I tell you to improve on frequently.
Going forward, imagine commands in your head each rep:
Start-hold the weight steady at handoff and let it settle. You’ll press it better if you do, and you are getting used to the start command.
Press-when the weight is on your chest, hold tight and let it settle. Imagine waiting for the start command.
Rack-at lockout, HOLD it still for a second or two. You’ve seen me do this before in every set.
Wait for the imaginary RACK command.
Holding that weight when all you want to do is put it in the rack builds physical and MENTAL strength.
Overall, great job.
Now get to work on what I said.
