I’ve seen it said 2 different ways and even in your (Murph) articles. 1 Gram of protein per pound of body weight VS 1 gram per pound of lean body mass. Is going for total body weight or a little more a waste of calories? Which do you recommend? I’ve been hovering around the 200+ area daily (currently 240ish pounds). I’m am nearing the end of losing weight and want to start to up my calories to try to gain muscle and just want to see if I should bring the protein up

I always (almost) suggest 1 gram per pound bodyweight.
      Why?
Protein is the most difficult to convert to fat and eating a lot will keep you full.

This article lays out a good guideline if you want to count macros.

Get an InBody test here to determine BMR and all of the data to track progress too.

Let me know if this helps./
