Started back in on my program and I made the switch to train sumo as my main lift this time around. Was shooting for an RPE 7. Pause squats went well too I think. A little short but they were there.

A few things to work on for both.
For the sumo pulls your hips are too low/you are pumping your knees forward to take the slack and pull. You can see when you pull your hips rise slightly before the bar breaks. Instead of pushing forward and driving your chest up, pull the bar into you and push your hips to the bar without your knees moving forward. It is still a deadlift and when done right should be all glutes/hamstrings off the floor. Can we see these from the side next time if possible? I’d like to see what your back angle looks like since a few of those lockouts seem a little “long”.
For the pause squats try to have everything rise at once. Pretty consistently there is some chest drop as you reverse out of the bottom. Since that seems to be the habit, let your chest/upper body dictate the speed at which you stand. Think about using variations like this to fix technical problems (falling forward in the squat) instead of just getting through them. -

Here’s more sumo pulls. Since it was a variation I filmed some warmup sets from different angles. Tried to avoid pushing my knees out and instead pulling the bar in and pushing my hips towards it.

Start position looks a lot better. In the videos of the banded variation, look where you lower the bar to. If you could get there when the bar is on the floor with that much tension that would be awesome. Try to duplicate it on the first rep.
For the technique stuff the hips/knees look better but it seems like you are looking too far down/not straightening your back all the way before you pull. Try to straighten out that little lower back round before you pull while keeping the lower body where it is.
You did this with the barely touching the floor deadlifts so I know your body can do it, you just need to duplicate it. -

Since this goes with the original topic I’ll post my pause squats here. Looks like I made some improvements with keeping my chest up out of the hole compared to last week. There’s also a set of block pulls in there but my camera died so I couldn’t get a side angle.

The squats look much better. Great job fighting for those harder reps at the end of the set where fatigue is really wanting to pull you forward. The pulls look good as well. There is not forward knee shift and your back looks much straighter.
For a floor press we like to see the elbows touch the floor, stop, then fire back up. Don’t fully relax into the floor but keep tension and do a full touch.
