So I’m noticing chain usage throughout the powerlifting programs. The issue I have is none of the gyms in my area have chains so I need to make my own. I was curious what the weight of the chains should be? One website mentioned 6 ft. Lengths of 5/8” chain that weigh about 10kg. Is there some kind of standard weight?

The ones we use are roughly 20 lbs and 5 ft. in length. You will need 2 of those, most of the program calls for 1 chain each side. You will need small leader chains to loop each chain and to secure it to the bar. This video show exactly how to set it up.
Hope this helps. Let me know if you have anymore questions.

I got mine off rogue for a little more than a hundred dollars shipped. That’s is the 5/8 chain the leader chain and carabineer. Elitefts has the same ones but is slightly more expensive
