Murph et al.,
I’ve got several questions about RPR:
In the “why do RPR?” video (the one with Murph and Russ) Murph says that the sheet showing the drills is available “on the site.” This site or the RPR site… because I can’t find it on either one.
I usually don’t have anyone to do the anti-rotation thing on the back. So,I just skip it every time. Do you have a better suggestion for people doing this solo?
What’s the deal with seeing an RPR specialist? I’ve looked through the RPR site way back when you first recommended it and saw there were specialists you could visit but didn’t really understand what they would do other than teach you the drills.
Then in the June 13th v-blog (Part 2 “from the couch”) you guys are talking about “level 2 assessments” and I still just have no idea what that is or what that results in. I’d also like to understand the process for how one gets their shit sorted out. Do you keep coming back and getting adjusted so that everything takes place in-office? Or do you show people things they can work into the basic wake-up drills or some other do-at-home type thing?
thanks.

Gina,
I too need to track down the location of that RPR sheet. If the email that we have on file works I can send you the PDF directly.
As far as skipping the anti rotation it isn’t that big of a deal. Most of the really important stuff I feel happens in Zone 1 (breathing, glutes and psoas).
For seeing a level 2 specialist (Murph is one), this is where it gets tricky. These assessments find where you specifically are driving power from. For example there are some people who cannot hold the top of a crunch while singing (they are driving from their jaw), others will have a drop in box jump height if you ask them to open their hands (driving from their hands). There’s a series of test that can be done of you to find where you are driving from and all of them come with “pattern disruptions”, which you can do yourself, specific to where you are getting you power from. Then these get added into your RPR routine.
I know this is making sense. -
Hi Matt,
Yes, that email address works — thank you!
thanks for explaining a bit more about the Level 2 assessment. I noted from poking around the RPR site that Murph is a specialist, but I still didn’t really understand what it was about. So that helps. I might need to hit Murph up for an appointment. There’s still something weird going on with my left side (glute?) and it’s not an injury so probably something related to all this. Bit of a treck from where I’m at but knowing I can do the “disruptions” myself at home without having to get there all the time would make it doable.

And you can the wake up drills alone no problem.Disruptions are Level 2 and we would need to see which ones you need.
You can download the RPR chart with this link.
