      Hey gang,

I have a BJJ tournament on 4/28 so my lifting will have to be sidelined for a bit to make sure I’m conditioned well enough for the day of the tournament. I’m wrapping up week 2 of Block 2B this week and plan on continuing onto week 3 after the tournament. I’ll be training BJJ 3x per week for the next couple of weeks leading up to the tournament but would still like to fit in at least a couple of lifting days to make sure I don’t lose too much strength (although I don’t think rolling BJJ will cause my body to deteriorate).

Any advice on how I should tackle my lifting days to make sure I a) stay fresh for the tournament and b) don’t lose too much of the strength I’ve gained?

      Thanks again!

With the tournament in a little over 2 weeks, that isn’t that big of a deal.
Maybe next week you repeat the assistance work of week 2 block 2B just to get you to move some weights in the gym, skip the main lifts. The following week, just take it off from lifting, you can come in for some sled drags if you feel obliged.
Once you comeback, I’d say you would feel fresh but you may not due to the training for the tournament.

Thanks Matt. I’ve taken 1-2 weeks off here and there over the last year and, I have to say, the loss in strength/gains has been negligible. Thanks for the tip!
