This week is meant to mimic a meet day so I was shooting for 1RM for all my lifts. I think my inconsistent training schedule and diet as of recent probably hindered me from hitting the numbers I feel I could have hit. But as they say, Rome wasn’t built in a day. I recorded all 3 sets of my squat and the final set for my deadlift since they are far and away my weakest lifts. Appreciate the feedback.
Squat: 1st set, 415×1
Squat: 2nd set, 415×1. First set felt and looked a bit high
Squat: 3rd set, 435×1
Deadlift: final set, 435×1

Wow Joe, that gym you go to plays some excellent music.
Sounds just like my iPod.Anyway.
Let’s talk about the squats first.
Overall, your technique looks ok, but needs some tweaks.
You are loose all over.
Getting tight will help quite bit.
Please watch the rooting and bracing videos and PRACTICE!
Let’s do only that for now.
OK, I lied.
Let’s also learn to settle down and be patient.
If you watch the first two videos, you are all over the place on the walkout and you don’t settle the weight into your body before the execution of the lift.
I call this not being patient.
Take an extra second and let the weight settle, root, brace and then go.
This will clean up an awful lot. And, I would red light you as a side judge on all lifts.
The third was the best, but still needs to be lower.Deadlift:
Looks pretty good except at lockout.
You don’t need to lean so far back, and I suggest that you don’t.
Avoid hyper extending the back.
Other than that, looks pretty solid.Going forward can you shoot from a 45 degree angle side or front so we can see the lift better?
Thanks!
