Something I’ve been noticing with my deadlift at higher weights is that I feel some strain on the lower back. Not a ton (like back when my form truly sucked), but some. Is there something I can do to work on this, or is it just the nature of the beast?

These set look pretty good. There’s two answers here. First would be to pay attention to the brace and making sure you take all of the slack out of the bar before it breaks the ground. Taking the slack will give you feedback about tension and allow things to move as they should off the floor instead of things moving disjointedly.
Second answer is that you have muscles there that do work when you deadlift, so you should feel tension there and that those muscles are working.
In reality the answer is somewhere between those two things.

Sounds great, thank you Matt. I hadn’t even considered slack in the bar before, but you can clearly see it. I’ll work on it.
